Was Anonym at Dimatina a mag?
Short & sweet... On the main strip of Lygon street. Value for money, easy to access, amazing looking restaurant, great decor, friendly staff and food was outstanding! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Dimatina:
Ate here before and was happy. This time though the food was cold, sent it back and it came back cold again. We waited 45 minutes for the entree to arrive and another 20 or so minutes for the main. Waiter was good and apologised got us a free drink. However, the night was spoilt a bit. I think they take on too much and the kitchen can't cope. Anyway, maybe it was a bad night for them. My friends and I went out for tea after an enjoyable day at the Aus Open.. The veal scallopini is literally inedible, all 4 of us couldn't eat it! It's been an hour after we tried it and the taste still burns and tastes foul!!! Will never eat there EVER again!!!!

We rung at the last minute on a Saturday night for a table of 10. It should have rung bells when they were able to accommodate so many people in such sort notice. The service was appalling the waitress started taking orders after 45 mins and that's only after we made mention to the manager that we had been there waiting for such a long time. Eventually she started taking orders, she took 2 orders and then just left our table and went to another table and started to take their orders. We complained to the owner, he was very apologetic and told us he would organise some free bruschetta and organise the waitress to come immediately. As expected, The food was as bad as the service, the pasta was over cooked the sauce tasted like it was out if a can and the calamari was as dry as a bone. We were so disappointed that none of us wanted to stay for desert. The topping on the cake was when they presented the bill, they put the cost of the bruschetta on it, when I queried it, I was told the owner didn't mean it was free, I couldn't confirm this with him as he had left for the night. I just paid and got out of there as fast as I could never to return again. Extremely disappointed.
I dined at this restaurant with some friends from the port and we all had a great meal. We definitely plan on coming back. The restaurant is conveniently located next to Clock Tower Parking.
We visited this restaurant for dessert and coffee. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the Tiramisu. The mascarpone was overly sweet and the biscuits seemed to be not soaked long enough, resulting in a lack of flavor from the coffee and liqueur. The apple crumble my dining companion ordered was also a disappointment, with a strange taste reminiscent of chemicals. While my latte was decent, the short Macchiato was burned. It was evident why this place was empty while many other restaurants on Lygon Street were crowded.
