This restaurant in Melbourne is the worst I have ever been to. From the food to the service, it was absolutely terrible. I informed the owner about how bad the experience was. Perhaps they should consider learning how to properly manage a restaurant before attempting to run one.
Okay. Great service. Food came out reasonably quickly and prices are comparable to other places that do similar food. This was my first time here and I ordered a T-bone steak. The valuable lesson I got was never to order steak here ever again. Other items on the menu may be great....which I have not tasted, but steak.....no. I asked for it to be medium rare. I got it well done shoe sole in some areas, and dripping blood rare in some other. And it was bland as bland can be. Accompanied by some boiled steamed veges. I am huge fan of a good steak and I'm not ordering one here again. May try other things though as the service was excellent.
What was once a “nice” place to go and always “safe” I’d re think going again. I don’t even think their good pizzas could save them. There’s no denying the pizza was good but then, it’s kind of hard to stuff up a basic pizza. The coffee was average at best and did its duty warmed my hands. A table for 2 by the window, we shivered. And it wasn’t just us. Others sitting against the same window also were heard commenting the same. When I say it was cold, it was the same temperature as outside by the window 10°. The wine list provided some relief with my favourite wine Juliet listed albeit incorrectly listed as coming from SA. It’s a wine from the Mornington Peninsula. We decided to brave desserts, my choice was my stock standard Sticky Date Pudding and my friend chose Panna Cotta with Berry Compote. The Sticky Date was enormous to the point where it was evident it was bought in and not made in house. The highlight was the sauce that came with it although I again suspect this too was not made in house. It was served with a dollop of cream which did not present well and ice cream that was super icy. Would I dine in again? Probably not when Fieste across the drive offers better food. Would I get pizza from here again? Jury is out I’d have to drive past 3 other pizza places to do so. It’s a shame. It used to be pleasant to go here. The staff were great, no denying that. The blonde lady looking after us was a delight.
I ordered the chicken Caesar Salad and was disappointed that the poached egg on top was not runny. However, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and made sure that our dining experience was enjoyable.
We went to a event last week and I decided to order the fish and chips from the menu. Unfortunately, the fish batter looked golden on the outside but was raw and tasted like glue on the inside. It was a terrible experience. The rest of my group had pre-ordered their meals but still waited 1 1/2 hours for their food to arrive. The restaurant was only half full, so it was puzzling why the kitchen couldn't keep up. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
