Chilli India - Melbourne
Menu
The menu of Chilli India from Melbourne comprises about 105 different courses and drinks. On average you pay about A$30 for a dish / drink.
A group of four visited this restaurant for lunch and tried the two-course lunch option with drinks. The Penang Noodles received mixed reviews, with one guest finding them slightly harsh but another deeming them authentic. The atmosphere in the upstairs area was noted to be nicer, although potentially noisy at peak times. Another reviewer expressed frustration with the lack of clarity regarding payment methods, menu options, and water availability, vowing not to return. While some found the restaurant to be informal and a bit shabby, the staff was praised for being friendly and efficient. The food was described as authentic with a good variety of dishes, although one guest encountered gristly beef in their meal. Other reviewers enjoyed dishes such as Pad Thai seafood and chicken biryani, appreciating the flavors and generous portions. The dosas, biryani, and paneer entrée were highlighted as particularly delicious. Overall, the restaurant was recommended for those seeking a satisfying Indian meal, although the lack of restroom facilities was noted as an inconvenience.

Was Vick at Chilli India a mag?
Ordered lamb murtabak and chicken briyani. Overall the price and serving are good. However the lamb inside the murtabak is chunky and not minced....not that its bad but I grew up with the minced lamb murtabak version. View all feedback.
What Josh Keeling dislikes about Chilli India:
Four of us were here for lunch last week. We all did the lunch option which is two courses with drink. I had the Penang Noodles which I found slightly harsh but my Malaysian friend tells me it is authentic to the original in his estimation. We were upstairs which is definitely the nicer part but I know it can get incredibly noisy as it has a low roof and gets crowded. We were there on a Monday so it was fairly quiet View all feedback.
The Coriander and Mint Naan is incredible. It is the best Indian food I have had in Melbourne. It is very filling for the price and definitely worth the wait for such delicious food.
Onion Egg Pakora was stale andnot crispy. Chicken 65 (Chefs Special) was a bomb though.
The best meal I've had in the past three days. I don't think any other restaurant can compare to the food here. Well done, Chilli India Team!
It was a great meal. It was a wonderful time and place. We were really pleased with the service provided because the staff were really friendly and helpful. Thank you.
