Chick-In - Melbourne
Chick-In
Description
Chick-In, a cozy Korean restaurant tucked away in a Melbourne alley, offers a unique dining experience. While some found the prices a bit steep for the quality of food compared to KFC or Nando's, others raved about the flavorful dishes, such as the gang jung fried chicken and kimchi fries. The service was consistently praised for being friendly and efficient, even in the cramped lunchtime space. The restaurant also boasted a wide selection of non-typical beers. Despite its less than ideal location, Chick-In impressed diners with its generous portions, delicious food, and reasonable prices, making it a hidden gem worth discovering.

The best cold green tea I've had in ages. it was so delicious I've been trying to find out where to buy that brand of tea bag!! The Gang Jung from the lunch menu was so yummy and filling. The staff are lovely and the service is nice a quick for lunch time too. Can't wait to come here again!
Delicious food and soju, right next to Southern Cross Station. Small enough that it's never too loud, even if it's busy. Everyone's always friendly and helpful.
My score 4.25 stars. J and I had a pre footy dinner here on Fri 31st May. We originally tried Brim CC but it was full at 6.30 – a 15 min wait for a table, then 15min for non curry food so we moved on). Luckily Chick in was close by, so we gave it a go, as kick off wasn't that far away. <br/ You go down a narrow side alley next to Purple Peanuts which was also full). C in was virtually chockers too footy crowd mainly), they offered us 2 slightly cramped bench seats – which we accepted gratefully. Service was good the place was really humming.<br/ <br/ I had Kimchi fries $17). Shoestring fries on bottom), spicy green chilli yum), tomato cubes, sour cream, Kimchi not much), tasty cheese, chicken floss? nice, but not very chickeny a good thing for me). Overall naughty but nice really yum) – could have murdered a beer with it, but I was being good there were lots being consumed around us).<br/ <br/ J had Avo Bibimbap $13.50) tuna $3). Was really rice w salad sort of Viet style) but who cares, it was really good! Small raw cubes of tuna yummy), nice fanned avocado, gourmet lettuce, radish, cucumber, lotso pickled ginger and mildly spicy wasabi peas. Crunchy sprinkles and sesame seeds on the tuna and avo v. good). Good warm rice w a great sesame seed–soyish dressing. A cold night but this still shone J loved it and I did too! J is already hassling me to go back…
I stumbled upon this place by chance, and although I wasn't a fan of the ambiance, I was pleasantly surprised by their delicious dokbokki and incredibly tasty deep fried chicken.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and ordered the fried chicken meal. The chicken was incredibly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavors were just right, not too salty or sour. The restaurant was bustling during lunchtime, but we were lucky to grab a seat outside where we could enjoy our hot meal.
