Lots of life here - some great street theatre and bands. Great shopping and terrific restaurants in the lanes off Collins and Bourke streets. The closest you can get to a European experience without leaving Australia. View all feedback.

Its a nice place ti visit, but I couldnt live there. So much to see, so many shops you can get a bit overwhelmed by it all. (I know how Croc Dundee felt in NY). Very busy View all feedback.

Melbourne is a wonderful city to get around. It is easily walkable and contains some fascinating lanes and alleys.Bourke St Mall with Myer and David Jones dominate the area which is enlivened with buskers and musicians. It house numerous restaurants and eating areas from China Town in Little Bourke st, and top European restaurants at the top end of town.Situated on the Yarra River,it is itself a great place to wonder. Then across to the bustle of Southbank and the shops and CasinoWhat a great place.

I love Melbourne CBD. The trams make it so easy to get from place to place. I am not a walker but in the Melbourne CBD it is easy to get anywhere with the tram service. There are so many great places to shop till you drop arcades and shopping areas like the Block Arcade, I always choose to stay in the CBD as I frequently travel on my own. I feel very safe as a female on my own. Melbourne is my favourite Australian city.
