Great menu with generous serving sizes. New management here and it shows. Service was attentive (maybe a little too much) but overall a pleasant experience. We’ll be back. View all feedback.
What Kayli Turner doesn't like about Balderdash Cafe:
Balderdash has a choice location on a corner site of the cafe heavy strip that is Bay Street. It was a sunny morning and sadly the outdoor seating was already full. Service was quick, friendly enough, with the coffee being quite good but the food only average at best. Part of the food prep area is inside the cafe itself and as many patrons were having smoothies the very noisy blender was going very frequently. Balder... View all feedback.
I was made to feel welcome and the many who followed me seemed to be well known here. It was like visiting family. I chose a Reuben sandwich for lunch and it was good. I sat in a corner to do my puzzles and felt at peace. There is seating outside for those who prefer it and take away, too. Inside was just right for me.
Being a breakfast and brunch junkie I like trying new places most days. I treat it like one of life 's simple adventures and love discovering new places and their respective vibe . Sort of sets up the day! Most inner city cafes are okay but tend to be pretty basic formula style fare with a predictable café experience. However, this café is a WOW! Had breakfast this morning with a culinary friend who has a cultured and educated foodie palate at this cafe and it is simply nothing short of fabulous!! Superb fresh food with unique tastes and inviting presentation. Chill scrambled eggs are my perrenial favourite and this is is easily the best I have ever had in the world. First class. Both our meals were so wholseome, fresh and marvellous portions so so generous. You will only need one of their divine dishes to last you the entire day. Great crew of female staff with our funky New Yorker waitress a delight. Warm and friendly whilst being efficient. The female proprietor was lovely, both humble and gracious when receiving our positive feedback. In my opinion she is an admirable role model for how people working in hospitality should interact with their customers and is a credit to her business and how she operates. Highest of recommendations all round. Will be back many times in the future. STREETS AHEAD OF ALL THE CAFES IN PORT MELBOURNE!! SPOIL YOURSELF.
Best omelette in town with bacon, mushroom and tomato but other yum options on the menu too. The bread is sensational, only complaint is the serving is small. Coffee tastes great and service is friendly. New favourite.
If you are passing through Port Melbourne either going into the CBD or in the opposite direction to Station Pier, this place is just great for delicious coffee and a great breakfast. This time we were in a hurry, so we had coffee and a “bacon egg muffin muffinette”, as they describe it! Everything was perfect including atmosphere and service. Try it when you get a chance. Great place to hang out!
This quaint coffee and light meals café is very well located and very well run. The coffee is excellent, the service great and the staff very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. It looks from the outside quite old and in need of some maintenance but the inside has been cleaned out and replaced with new fittings. It's just a great place for coffe and a chat. Dog-friendly too.
