Kojak's - McHenry
Kojak's
Description
In a recent dining experience at Kojak’s, reviews reflected a mix of satisfaction and disappointment. While the restaurant's warm service was frequently praised, consistency in food quality was a common concern. Patrons enjoyed well-seasoned dishes like the cream of chicken soup and lamb kabobs, while others found issues with dry gyros and overcooked burgers. Additionally, the fries received notable criticism, described by many as stale or improperly cooked. Despite some negative feedback, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff encouraged hopes for improved visits in the future, making Kojak’s a location worth considering for casual dining.

After several times, I have found an item I would gladly order again. The Greek chicken dinner was yummy. The house made lemon vinaigrette is awesome!
Nothing like cary location. Service was slow, food barely warm. Had to send Beef sandwich back as it had like an ounce of beef with cold cheese.
Just over an hour for two grilled cheese kids meals, gyro platter and a Philly steak. I get it to a point however it will never make want to return. Overall disappointing compared to the Cary location. Ownership should review the operation and management staff to keep the business successful.
Gyro sandwich was so so. I only 2 small tomato half slices in it. Onions were good. The tzatziki sauce was thick like sour cream, I bought extra sauce and spread it on like sour cream to a potato. I was expecting more and got less. My husbands fries were extremely salty and he threw them out. His beef sandwich was kind of dry, not moist. I tried the bread gravy, it had the gravy on the bread, but it was still dry. Nothing like the menu promised. We might go back to try the hot dogs, but I can’t promise that.
I always get the Burger. It has been cooked anywhere from good (med rare to very over done over the last year or so since they opened, like today. (I always order online and make the med rare choice . I like a little moisture/grease in my burger. I keep getting it overcooked and very dry. I love the fact they offer a cooked preference, now they just need to follow through. AND they REALLY need to change the fries. I eat out constantly and you would have a hard time finding worse fries anywhere. It 's strange, they almost taste 'baked ' not deep fried. Not sure what is going wrong there, the cook/storing method (cooked an hour ago sitting in heat/oven/light? or the fries themselves. Fries are easy, how do you mess that up.
