This past spring, my wife and I visited Ali Katz Kitchen, and what a delightful find it was! It's a unique boutique bakery that offers so much more. The Rugelach and cookies were simply unforgettable; just thinking about them makes my mouth water. I only wish I had taken pictures to share! Everything tasted authentic, crafted with care and top-notch ingredients, reminiscent of the treats my grandma used to make. We can't wait to go back in the fall!
This is the best bakery in North Fork, offering baked goods that meet NYC standards—light on sweetness and very fresh, made in small batches. However, I rated it only three stars due to the owner, Ali Katz. She can be quite rude and has an attitude that suggests she doesn't understand customer service. On the other hand, her husband is very friendly and would be great at the register, interacting with customers and providing a positive experience. I think the owner should spend more time in the kitchen where her baking skills shine. It's puzzling why she and another well-known baker in North Fork (Jundas) seem to have such inflated egos, making customers feel as though they are doing us a favor by providing baked goods. We can manage without them, but they certainly rely on us customers!
The tomato galette and the crostatas, crafted from locally sourced fruits at their peak every week, are some of the best dishes I've ever had. We serve them to our guests, who are consistently impressed by their incredible taste. Ali also bakes the best Linzer tarts I've ever tried.
