The waitress was surpri... read more Richardson's Cafe offers a diverse menu with good food, showing great potential. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. The waitress was surprisingly rude, treating us as if we were an inconvenience. Her negative attitude made the atmosphere uncomfortable throughout our visit. We weren't even able to get our water refilled. The staff's lack of hospitality and manners was truly shocking, especially given the presence of two restless children adding to the noise. It was difficult to enjoy the experience or even think clearly. I will be recommending that others in Matthews County avoid this restaurant. I won't be returning.

The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding, though I felt it was somewhat expensive.

And provided the most outrageous lack of service I have ever encountered in a great while Waitress was extraordinarily rude by all definition. Clearly we were disturbing her. Just nastyattitude WHEN she bothered to be there at all! We couldn't even get water refills. Add to the vulgar lack of any hospitality ormanners on the wait staff, you had 2 shrieking kids in there that continued to let out such abysmal, loud, nerve shatteringscreeches, we could barely hear each other. I will make it a point to tell other visitors to Matthews County to stay clear ofyour establishment. NEVER AGAIN.

It is a very cool looking, unique place. However, service was non-existent. I would go so far as to say our server was angry, and maybe she was, but we didn?t know or have anything to do with it. She didn?t ever ask us if we wantedany additional water, and when we asked for our server to come back (by asking another) she showed up several minutes later. Idon?t know how overwhelmed they could have been as there were empty seats and a growing line. I had the chicken and dumplingscombo special. The sandwich was good, but the dumplings was a salty brew of something gross.
