Wasabi - Matawan
Wasabi
Description
Nestled in a quaint locale, this restaurant offers a mix of experiences that can leave diners feeling both satisfied and perplexed. While some patrons rave about the fresh sashimi and beautifully crafted sushi, others express disappointment with musty decor and occasionally inattentive service. The menu features standout items like fried sea bass and tonkatsu, but inconsistencies in food quality and flavor—ranging from overly sweet sauces to less-than-fresh ingredients—persist. With potential for improvement in ambiance and service, the restaurant remains a hit-or-miss spot, attracting loyal customers while leaving others hesitant to return.

Fresh food, friendly stuff and best flavor. beat all Michelin-starred restaurants in NY. My first favorite place to treat me and friends. Recommend!
The food is fantastic, but I mistakenly assumed that the bento box included rice. Be sure to order a side of rice!
The sushi itself was 3/10 but given it was a large portion and in the cheaper side, I was pretty satisfied with the meal itself since it was a lot of food. Dont think I would come back again if I was craving sushi
