Menu

The menu of Vegan Tree from Matawan contains about 91 different dishes and drinks. On average you pay about $10.2 for a dish / drink.

Located in Matawan, NJ, The Vegan Tree is a restaurant that evokes mixed feelings among its patrons. While the food garners praise for its vibrant flavors and generous portions—especially the Thai fried rice and pot stickers—the ambiance leaves much to be desired. Guests often note the lack of cleanliness, with dirty tables, unpleasant odors, and health code concerns overshadowing the culinary experience. Though situated in a strip mall alongside a smoke shop, and occasionally marred by staffing issues, the restaurant's commitment to vegan cuisine shines through, making it a worthwhile visit for dedicated foodies despite its drawbacks.

Was User at Vegan Tree a mag?
I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough! I started with the cheese bread appetizer and had the golden charm as my main course, both of which were absolutely delicious! The flavors were a delight! The presentation was impressive, and the service was excellent. The shakes were also fantastic and reasonably priced. The only downside is the ambiance, which isn't the best since it's located in a strip mall, but th... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Vegan Tree:
I’ll admit the actual restaurant dine-in experience is lacking, but thats not what I come for. The food is really delicious, i personally get the cheesesteak, beyond burger, falafel balls, dumplings, and whatever dessert they have. (Their desserts are shipped in from Vegan Treats in Bethlehem, PA...and if you know, you know View all feedback.

I have been visiting this restaurant with friends and family for years, and recently I've started getting takeout, making a 20-minute drive each time! The food is amazing and consistently delicious. Some of my favorite dishes include the Kung Pan Spaghetti, BLT Wrap, Philly Sub, and Cheese Bread. I've sampled almost everything on the menu, and it’s all excellent—these are just my top picks. Service: Takeout.

**Food:** This is my favorite spot for takeout. I've always enjoyed everything I've ordered from the menu, so I have no complaints about the food. **Location:** The restaurant itself leaves much to be desired; it’s situated in a shopping strip next to a cigar shop. If you’re particular about the dining atmosphere, be aware that it doesn't offer a "5-star vibe," even though the food is fantastic. **Service:** Takeout only.

Appearances can be misleading. Don't be put off by this tiny vegan Chinese restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. We tried the veggie tempura sushi roll, kung pao fusion, and vegetable stir-fried rice, and we had no complaints at all. We're definitely planning to return to sample more items on the menu. They also offer sandwiches. From what I gathered, the vegan protein options are primarily soy-based, with some dishes featuring seitan. Service: Dine-in.

Visited 9/14/24 We got the Summer Rolls, Happy Buddha, and the Vegan Tree Burger. Summer Rolls were nice, Happy Buddha was really delicious, and the burger was fairly good. Overall, we really liked the food!! The fake meat was based in soy. Normally I'm not a fan, but I liked it in the Happy Buddha meal FYI Restaurant is more of a takeout spot, not very nice seating for sit-in dinner. Updated from previous review on 2024-09-15

I had to go to Freehold and looked for somewhere to eat. I ordered the Philly cheese steak ,crispy rolls, and the mindful medley. All were excellent!! I told my husband (not vegan) about it, and he said he 'd try it. We brought my mother in law (not vegan) and ate inside. We ordered the scallion pancakes, Happy Buddha, Philly cheese(my dinner), and Linguine De Italia with the white sauce. We loved everything! My husband actually wants to go back and try everything on the menu! The guy at the counter is very nice and accommodating to your needs. Updated from previous review on 2024-08-05
