I had an outstanding dining experience! The food was simply exceptional, deserving a perfect score of 5 out of 5. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was equally impressive; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal, earning another 5 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and enjoyable, creating the ideal setting for our dinner. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a fantastic dining experience!.

very beautiful site, very beautiful view, eager and courteous staff, good beer, good entrances but the main meal bitterly disappointed us. the cod I ate was lacking freshness and sauce and its taste was too lemon (maybe to compensate for the lack of freshness?) my wife ate a lobster club in which the quantity of lobster left to be desired. from our experience, I'd say I'd go back to it, but by refraining from orderin... I'm not quite sure how this rest ranks so high, maybe because it's limited decisions in matane. it is a beautiful looking restaurant with river view. I think the terrace would be beautiful in warmer weather. the menu is very limited and the food is average. the garnel spaghetti was overboiled and drowned in white sauce. the personal is very friendly.
We were two adults who visited this restaurant on 31st august 2021. the restaurant was full, but we had reservations. I started with a cauliflower soup that was very tasty. my friend ordered a bark tar that he said was delicious and just the right quantity seasoned. in relation to the next course I had linguine and garnel. it was the first advice I enjoyed immensely. my friend had the laughter who was a very generous part. on the plate there was no more crumbling! regarding dessert I had the sugar cake I enjoyed. for wein we ordered a bottle of white muscadet. an excellent choice. our server was france g and she was very professional and efficient. merci, frankreich! a very pleasant meal. a perfect way to finish our trip to matane.
I enjoyed my visit and really liked the tasting of sangria made with local fruits and of course the seafood is great! oh and the cheesecake should die. the lady who took care of us was adorable. take early, because the restaurant is very. popular is, I thought the setting could be more convenient and the prices were a bit high, but overall I think it could be the reference for the best restaurants in matane.
First words we were told: “You have 1.5 hours to eat!!!” and how about “welcome to our restauration blablabla”? literally? but unfortunately it was only the beginning! about price, among qualified staff, ridiculous service and also eating was simply disgusting! 100$ later,...I've had a stomachache (maybe about our eating) and I'm still hungry! while waiting for my girlfriend to go to the bathroom, I heard that three people complain about the restaurant and the hotel. what a shame and lack of professionalism! I came from the Bask country had great hopes, but I guess not everyone can open a restaurant and be good in it!
The best of service, everything went fast and perfect, thank to Solange for the gratful services. 5 stars from us. Will visit again!!!

We stayed at Riotel and ate there (Cargo is the restaurant at Riotel Matane) the first night after a full day on the road. It was a good experience, good drinks, sitting on the patio. We have visited Matane many times but never tried this restaurant. My wife wanted something simple with no onion or garlic and the hostess said pick a protein and vegetable and the chef will prepare it. Wonderful. Nice dinner, no problem. We weren't planning on eating there twice but we met up with friends and it was an easy call to go back there. Bad idea. We had reservations, but the (different) hostess was seating walk-ins and refusing to seat us. Then the (different) waitress tells us there are no substitutions allowed. After much haggling my wife gets a child's portion of pasta at full price. What is that about? The food isn't terrible, it isn't fantastic. But the issues with uneven/hostile service are the reason we will never eat here again. Unacceptable at a cantine, not to mention this place at the prices they charge.
I stayed at the hotel near the restaurant for 3 days, I didn't see the necessity to move or seek for doors elsewhere. The service it's amazing, the waitresses Anáis and Noemi are very friendly and extremely beautiful. The food is great, well served good pricing a lot of potatoes in the plates but it's a regional thing, the chef has an excellent seasoning. I recommend it a lot, especially the tartars and the pokes that are amazing.
Last night in Matane and then I'm on my way back to laval and I'm glad I stop by Cargo so far out of all the places I tried this one had the best food. I took the linguine shrimp Matane garlic sauce plate it was amazing I was really impressed. They make there own beer that I tried which was also really good . Service was excellent the decor was nice it was kind of odd looking but still nice . I took there Browne dessert which they make them self was a perfect way to end the dinner. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back and see what else they can do.
You walk in a really nice decor. Staff is friendly. At first we ordered the cold cut and cheese platter to share with some **** ceasar. This was really good. For dinner I had the decadent grill cheese and ask for a ceasar salad instead of the house salad. It was good. There was a huge piece of bread and a leaf under the salad that I think didn'tbelong there... Not everything needs to be deconstructed. Since we were staying atthe hotel, we went for breakfast the next morning. I ordered the ham eggs benedicts. The roasted potatoes were good, but my eggs were overdone (almost hard boiled) poach eggs on benedict needs to be soft and runny for me. The hollandaise didn't do it for me either. I had my share of eggs benedicts in restaurant and at home and these were not in my top 10. The breakfast menu offered many other options that sounded really good.. So probably for next time. The pricing was right on.
The Venue: The restaurant features a contemporary design that has a club-like atmosphere, in my opinion. It has a nice layout with a sufficient number of tables. What I tried: I dropped by for breakfast...
