This place is amazing. Not only is the vegetarian selection fantastic, but the interior design is absolutely beautiful. A must-try ! Updated from previous review on 2024-06-24

This was truly thebmost beautiful and authentic restaurant we’ve been to in Morocco. The house dates back to the 16th century but it was amazingly restored. Upon our entrance the lovely emp’oyees gave us a tour and told us about the incredible details, which instantly made us feel like we were at a true museum. Before we came we checked the reviews all over the internet, all comment were great, except a few that suggested that the restaurant’s prices were a bit overpriced compared to other restaurants in marrakech. But when we arrived at the location, and had delicious food we thought that it was worth every penny, especially when you think of museum in europe and western world, there known for having higher prices because of they are museums. So to us it felt just right! We ordered hummus(literally best hummus we’ve had) , the briouates, quinoa salad with avocado and shrimp, some moroccan pastries with tea. Everything was scrumptious! While leaving the place we asked if such place was owned by Moroccans or foreigners and we were so delighted to hear that is 100% moroccan and that the family who operates it is all about historical preservation which was so nice to hear!

Once we wound our way down smaller and smaller alleys, and ducked into a passageway we finally came to a series of closed carved wooden doors. One was marked Dar Cherifa. We knocked and rang the bell and a very nice English speaking person ushered us in. Inside there is a beautiful 3-story courtyard with tables both downstairs and up on the roof. We chose downstairs for the coolness in the warm afternoon. Our waiter confirmed that he understood what vegan meant, and pointed out our options. We chose a beautiful and very filling Veggie Couscous and a delicately and wonderfully spiced vegetable Tajine. Along with those we had two freshly made juices (orange, carrot, cinnamon beet, apple, carrot, ginger. We sat back on our cushions and enjoyed our very lovely and delicious meals.

We had the vegetarian menu which was completely vegan. The food and tea was excellent ans authentic. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. However, the restaurant is not vegatarian, it had meet dishes on its menu.

We visited this place in September 2018. One of the most exciting and beautiful things on this Morocco trip ! We went after it got already dark and got a little bit lost in Marrakechs street system . A man asked us if we needed help and then transfered us to a young man in white gown that led us further into tinier dark alleys and finally to the restaurant. It 's a beautiful building and because we had no reservation we needed to sit on the roof top, which was magnificient and a bit cold. Many stairs to climb ! We ordered Tajine, and a vegetable plate (which unfortunately after explaining what vegan is, still contained a boiled egg) and a fresh juice with ginger. Everything was good, also the orange dessert with cinnamon. You should definitely visit this place for the building alone and making them have more vegan dishes in the future !
