At The Elk, the dining experience is a mixed bag that has left patrons with conflicting impressions. If they like long waiting and cold eating, then the elk is perfect. 10 minutes wait to order drinks 15 minutes wait until our drinks arrive (2 coffee and 2 juice) a total of 25 minutes wait to order our food then it was...45-50 minutes wait for our food. tasty only 2 dishes from the brunch menu. when I asked the waitress where our food was and why it took so long (only 4 other tables with customers who were all before us), she told me that she would check. and within 30 seconds came with our eating at our table. Of course, it was ready to eat and just sat in the kitchen ready to go, and we know that because eating was cold when we got it. we just ate it as we starve. £30 I spent the worst in months and will certainly not recommend or return.
We visited The Elk on Saturday. The service was awful, as we waited nearly an hour for drinks and even longer to receive our food. Not a single apology was given. We dined with our daughter and family, but still did not feel welcome. The meals arrived at different times and the children's food was not suitable. The cooking was poor and the presentation was terrible. We will not recommend or return to this restaurant.
Visited with my son on a miserable Saturday morning, nice warm chilled atmosphere with relaxing music playing in the background, one of the most beautiful soy latte I ever had, my son enjoyed his cappucino that much he had 2 very rare! only for us was both an early piece toastie or just sharing something like we were pacious, but not hungry. would certainly return.
To make matters worse, a table with a dairy allergy was mistakenly served a plate with cheese, eggs, and yogurt, which had to be sent back. This added to the delays and left us feeling disappointed. We will likely be taking our business elsewhere in the future.
