We stopped at Whataburger with a large group while passing through the area. As soon as we arrived, the manager seemed unhappy and came outside to tell us we’d need to wait for some time. During our wait, another customer entered and made a racist comment, but when called out, he quickly tried to take it back. On top of that, the restrooms were troublingly dirty, with vomit in the sink and one of the toilets in very bad condition.
I visited the drive-thru on Saturday evening, August 20, 2022, around 6:30 PM. There wasn't much of a crowd, and the wait time was average. I waited about seven minutes until I reached the window to pick up my food. However, when I got home, my food was cold—not warm at all. I ordered the number one with onion rings, and for my husband, I got a jalapeño burger with onion rings, which was somewhat warm. I haven't had any issues in the past, and I hope there won't be any in the future.
We waited approximately 45 minutes for our order of two Whataburgers, along with fries and onion rings. By the time we got our food, everything was cold, so we had to send the fries and onion rings back. On top of that, there were no salt or napkins on the table, and we had to wait for those to be brought to us. They were also out of lemons for the tea! I will never return; both the service and food were disappointing.
This is probably the dirtiest Whataburger I've come across, likely because it's located inside a gas station off the interstate. The men's restroom was out of soap. I waited 20 minutes and my food still hadn't arrived, so I had to ask, only to find it sitting in the back. I understand staffing is challenging these days, but it's really disappointing compared to what Whataburger used to be. I feel the quality and service have both declined since the family sold the company.
The staff at this restaurant is incredibly friendly. Even though they often look tired, they consistently maintain a polite, cheerful, and professional demeanor. It appears they handle challenging customers throughout the day, yet they continue to show resilience. I sincerely hope their manager rewards them appropriately for their dedication. The food is delicious, and they always offer me ketchup, even if I haven’t ordered fries.
