Cotton Patch Cafe - Longview
Cotton Patch Cafe
Description
A recent visit to the restaurant for dinner on a Saturday evening saw pleasant service and moderate food quality. One diner noted that their chicken fried steaks were just okay, with disappointing sides. Despite this, the customer felt this might have been an off night as previous experiences at the restaurant were described as excellent. Another patron praised their favorite waiter at the restaurant who delivered delicious food during their visit. However, one guest who ordered food to go experienced an incomplete order and defensive behavior from the to-go person when asking about it. On the other hand, positive comments were made about the impressive vegetarian options and generous portions offered at the eatery, as well as the great service and hospitality received. Another lunchtime visitor found the food to be good but portions on the smaller side, leading to a slight delay in service due to the busy lunch hour. Ultimately, while there were mixed reviews, the general consensus seemed to be that the establishment provides a variety of dishes, with some diners highlighting specific favorites and praising the overall dining experience.

My husband, our two daughters, and I went to dinner on a Saturday night. The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was only mediocre. My husband and I ordered chicken fried steaks, which were okay but not remarkable. The side dishes were particularly disappointing. In fact, both of my daughters couldn't finish their meals and described theirs as "disgusting." This might have just been an off night for the restaurant, as we've been there many times before and have always had great meals.
I've also observed that many delivery services regularly pick up from this restaurant, which speaks to its popularity. The young servers are consistently polite and friendly. All in all, it’s a delightful dining experience!
The food was superb, and the service was exceptional. The chicken fried steak smothered in white gravy was cooked to perfection. The loaded baked potato was generously topped with crispy green onions, bacon bits, cheese, and sour cream. The house salad was fresh, featuring ripe tomatoes and a delicious ranch dressing. To top it all off, the Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, was a delightful way to end the meal. Our server, David, was fantastic. I will definitely be back!
I recently had lunch at this restaurant and arrived before the usual rush, so I received excellent service. The food was tasty, but I thought the portions were a bit on the small side. Just as I was about to leave, the lunch crowd arrived, and I ended up waiting nearly fifteen minutes to pay my bill because the staff was busy handling all the new customers. It could be helpful for them to have additional assistance during busy times, as many diners are often pressed for time.
Great Sunday lunch spot. Wonderful menu selection with the freshest home style food imaginable. Don’t ask me for a favorite, there is always something new on the menu that will be my next favorite. When it comes to staff, ask for Crystal. She has taken care of me and my wife several times. She is a great example of a top notch staff at the Patch.
