Reviews - Bodacious -b-q
Reviews summary
Bodacious BBQ on 6th Street is a beloved local spot, known for its traditional barbecue offerings, especially the ribs, which have garnered both praise and criticism for their tenderness and flavor. While the atmosphere exudes a nostalgic charm, with old-school decor and a friendly vibe, opinions on the sides vary, with some dishes deemed overly rich. Customer service is largely rated positively, but concerns about portion sizes and ingredient transparency, particularly with allergens, have surfaced. Regardless of mixed reviews, it remains a rustic gem for classic BBQ enthusiasts.

What Rebecca V dislikes about Bodacious -b-q:
We visited after the lunch rush and I ordered the sliced brisket. While it was tasty, my portion included a large piece from the end, which turned out to be burnt. I don't mind spending more for quality barbecue, but I'm not convinced this met the high standards of bodacious BBQ. View all feedback.

I visited the restaurant for lunch and had a great experience. My wife ordered the chicken breast, while I enjoyed a sliced beef sandwich, both accompanied by delicious potato salad that was absolutely tasty. I went back for lunch again today; my wife chose the sliced beef plate, and I had the sliced beef sandwich with potato salad once more. It was just as fantastic as before. The staff were very polite and attentive. During my visit today, I stuck with my usual sliced beef sandwich and potato salad, while my wife opted for the chopped beef with potato salad. Everything was really enjoyable, and the counter staff were very friendly.

Who doesn't enjoy classic BBQ? That's exactly what they offer—traditional, old-school barbecue. However, much like your uncle who can smoke a great brisket, the sides might need a little work; the potato salad has a bit too much pepper, and the beans are just average. The atmosphere is a mix between a roadhouse bar and a cozy small-town family diner.
Ordered Loaded baked potato. BBQ pork was great. Potato comes with sour cream, butter. No cheese or chopped green onions. Like Dickies

I was very disappointed with my experience. The two-meat plate featuring ribs and brisket left much to be desired. The ribs were dry, and while the brisket was acceptable, it was served with just two slices of plain white bread. The coleslaw and potato salad were overwhelmingly heavy on mayonnaise, making them nearly inedible. Overall, it was not a good meal.
Bodacious BBQ is always good. The Google site says this store has a drive-thru. It does not. For 2022, I've ordered from this location at least 3 times because it's close to my home and work. Unfortunately, each time, a large amount of fat has been mixed in with the very expensive dishes. The other locations don't seem to produce such fatty meats. I wonder why?
Best BBQ around. And their mac-n-cheese is soooo good. Great food, friendly service and a good price.
I grew up on bodacious. I've always love it and viewed it as a local gem. I got the chopped beef sandwich. The meat was dry and slightly chewy. The staff couldn't tell me what spices where in the BBQ sauce or if there was pineapple added as a sweetener. No one knew. Pineapple is a major allergen. It can kill people. It's in a majority of places BBQ sauces. But you just don't know??

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I hadn't visited this location in years, and I'm so glad I returned. Thanks for offering macaroni and cheese with vegetables on the menu!
The pulled pork sandwich I had today was amazing! I really enjoy their potato salad as well; it has plenty of pepper!
I wish y'all would work with Heberts and open a location here in Lafayette or Maurice. anytime I go visit in Longview I always get Brisket to bring home.... LOVE LOVE LOVE Y'all
They were featured in Texas Monthly magazine, so we decided to give it a try. The BBQ was fantastic!
The Ribs....WOW with 1st bite.. We ate here for a lunch break.<br/ The atmosphere is old and the best of any Bodacious we have been in so far. We sat at the round table in the alcove like thing.<br/ A Bo pie was our target today with a meager side of 2 ribs each but it should have been the other way around.<br/ The ribs were just terrific, cooked perfect, not chewy and pulled right off. Great with or without the sauce.<br/ The Bo pie was good and the pecan pie but overshadowed by the ribs.<br/ Only pepsi products to drink though.<br/ As we were leaving, we wondered how great it must be for those dogs who are at the back....the must guard that place with their life for those scraps.<br/ <br/ JG score of 6(+3 for the ribs, +2 for the atmosphere, +1 for the price, -1 for only sorry pepsi products, 0 for service and +1 for we will return)

We tried to bo-pie for the first time and it was quite delicious as well as the chopped beef I got for my dog. Food: 5/5
This is our favorite location in the chain. The food is consistently served hot, and the portion sizes are generous. The building itself is beautiful, featuring a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The only disappointment is that they often run out of baked potatoes too quickly. Rating: 4/5 for the food.
I had a fantastic salad at the restaurant. I absolutely love their salad! When I lived in Oklahoma for a year, the BBQ there was amazing—just incredible! Unfortunately, it doesn't compare to that. Overall, I give the food a 5/5!
The service was quite disappointing. Many of the meats listed on the menu were unavailable, and the meat that was offered was left exposed under a heat lamp on the cutting table for an extended period. My family and I have decided that we will not dine at Bodacious restaurants again.
We were visiting LGV for the day and didn’t open our food until we made it back to Dallas. (bc we thought we would be getting the same quality we would’ve received from the one on the loop. Idk what has happened from the last time we were there, but I do know they have fallen off! When he called to speak to the manager she said that the amount was correct. This is a snack or even a kids meal!!! We got the 2 meat $14.95 and 3 meat $18.95. And man these ribs were tiny and looked super dry. We didn’t even eat it, we gave it away, going to eat somewhere where they provide the correct portion size for the price.
