Description

ReMix offers a varied dining experience that garners a mix of praise and criticism. Highlights include a creative menu featuring standout dishes like Brussels sprouts, fried chicken, and a wagyu burger paired with a vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. However, diners have noted issues with portion sizes, service inconsistencies, and a lack of authenticity in Filipino-inspired cuisine. While the food quality is generally well-received, some dishes fell short, particularly during busy brunch hours. Despite some criticisms, many guests recommend giving ReMix a try for its enthusiastic service and unique flavors, making it a popular choice for both lunch and dinner.

I recently visited ReMix Kitchen in Long Beach, and unfortunately, my group and I were disappointed with our meal. I had previously dined at Mix Mix when they were in downtown Santa Ana and had always enjoyed their food, so I was excited to try their new location. However, with the exception of the albacore tostadas, which were as good as I remembered them to be, the food was underwhelming at best and terrible at worst. We ordered the carbonara, bolognese, seafood pasta, and loco moco, but only the bolognese was somewhat enjoyable. The seafood pasta had an extremely sour taste to it, making it the most unpleasant pasta dish I've ever had. The carbonara and loco moco were also underwhelming, which was disappointing because the loco moco seemed to have promising ingredients but was ultimately a letdown. On the positive side, the service was friendly and attentive, which helped to soften the blow of the disappointing meal. However, based on the food alone, we won't be coming back here. It's a shame because we loved the original Mix Mix, but this new location falls far short of that standard.

Lots of interesting and unique drinks and dishes to choose from. Everything we tried was tasty, especially the mushroom risotto. Service was attentive and friendly, and we liked the trendy atmosphere. Will be coming back!Food: 5/5

Tried out this spot for Long Beach restaurant week and we were not disappointed! They had a three course menu for $35 which was a great deal! We got the fried chicken thighs, the pork cheek adobo and then loco moco. The pork cheek had a really good flavor and nice flaky meat and then loco had a yummy ground beef. The pork cheek adobo is a staple Filipino dish and the loco is a staple Hawaiian dish. Both were so scrumptious, filling and lots of unique flavors. The fried chicken thigh in honey was so good, highly recommended this for a shared appetizer, you get two pieces of chicken. Then tropical dessert was so tasty, again so many different flavors and textures. The ube ice cream stood out to me the most, it was so good I was temped to order some straight up. The service was great, everyone working there was kind and checked on us often. It's a trendy spot by the hangar and would be a great spot on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon to hang out!

Made 11:30 am reservations for a party of 4 through Yelp (super easy to make). Arrived at 11:10 am on a Sunday and we were seated right away. The place was absolutely empty. No one else was seated until 12:40 pm. A starting note: Our service was notgreat (long wait for food, starters arrived after entrees, and 1 entree was forgotten about) but I am assuming it was due to thefact that they had a wedding reception going on outside. They did notify us that they were short staffed too. So for thatreason, this review is solely on their ambiance and food quality not service. I would give this place another try for theirservice in the future. We ordered the following from the Brunch Menu: -House mimosas (3/5) These were pretty standard, probablymore orange juice than sparkling than I’m used to. -Salmon Benedict (4/5) The actual salmon Benedict was great! The sidepotatoes though were very soft. Almost mashed potatoes soft so was disappointed from a personal preference perspective. -RemixBrunch Burger (4.5/5) The burger was great with the sauce. The fries were limp though. So disappointed from a personalpreference again. -Pork Cheek Adobo Fried Egg (3.5/5) From the regular menu: -Seared Albacore Tostadas (2.5/4) I woulddefinitely recommend as MUST TRY on their menu We sat outdoors under the sun umbrellas and it was quite nice. Even with thewarmer temperatures the shade made it comfortable. The seating area has an unobstructed view of the open park area so it feelslike your eating on a picnic day out.
