As this was my final meal in Lima, I wanted it to be a special occasion and a fitting end to a wonderful adventure trip. But upon arriving on time at Ache for my 4:30 reservation, I was immediately told that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes, then when I asked for the shrimp dish featured in the Open Table listing, told that they were out of it. When asked what of their best seafood dishes they did have, I was recommended a Salmon dish that supposedly was a bit spicey and low sodium, which I ordered along with shrimp shu mai. I asked if I needed to order rice to accompany the salmon dish, but was told it was a complete dinner. The 4 shu mai arrived promptly, but were nearly raw, tough and less tasty than the Trader Joe 's version I regularly eat at home. And the salmon dish looked nothing like the one pictured in the menu, was a thin sliver and unaccompanied by rice or vegetables. When I asked the waiter if I could order a bowel of rice or side dish of vegetables, I was to NO!, although the nearby table of raucous locals continued to order and receive additional dishes long after. Apparently this is not a Lima restaurant where foreign tourists are accorded the same level of service and food that locals are. It ended up being one of the only disappointing meals I had in Peru and should be avoided by non-Spanish speakers.

Waiter should be more attentive to customers.. we had to look for the waiter everytime we wanted to order.
