Been several times to this cozy, amazing restaurant. Although a little more upscale than the other joints around this area, the few more soles that you pay for the food here, are totally backed up by the huge portions and the overall feeling of hygiene you get. I have tried tacu-tacus, octopus a la oliva , ceviches, jaleas and different kind of rices here, never been disappointed. If you have any kind of doubt about what to eat just ask the waiters about portions and what you are looking up to feast on (one time they even suggest me instead of eating just grilled octopus for entrance to have another plate that came with a lot more than the octopus for just an small increment on price) and they will gladly suggest something great. Atmosphere is relaxed, usuals are locals or business folks from the nearby hotels. Recommended dishes are the Perol del Puerto Norte (fried fish with shrimps, crab meat and more fish), and Ronda Pasión (grilled fish, shrimps, octopus, mushrooms with potatoes and choclo and a skewer of veggies and fish), but anything that you may find interesting will most likely be a success. Only thing that I will improved is that they close too early !!
We were walking arround, we wanted to grab a couple of beers and a snack... excellent choice, cebiche was delicious, be carefull aji is spicy but it gives excellent taste! Loved it! Do come in if you are near by and want to grab a bite!
Although the place is a bit noisy, this restaurant hands down has the best seafood I 've tried in Lima, a city I 've been visiting for the past fifteen years. The owner is from Cajamarca, and reflects the delightful cuisine of that coastal region. The food is the menu that has been delighting the original inhabitants of this land for thousands of year. MSG is unheard of. Frankly, this is restaurant for locals and there are very few tourists. The ceviche and sudado are classic dishes, that a lot of restaurants just can 't get right. With concessions to foreign countries, really good fish is harder and harder to find. You have to ask what kind of fish it is, and buy the most expensive one on the menu. The chita was worth every penny.
I had lunch there with a couple of colleagues the food was very good, the place is clean, and it is really close to the Sheraton Lima where we are staying. The service was just OK I don 't need to be pampered, but, had to ask three times for water; and then...2 more times for a glass...
We started with the ceviche Puerto Norte, which was excellent and had a very flavorful rice with seafood and the colossal Seafood Grill, a perfectly grilled seafood plate, where nothing was dry, all was fresh and topped with garlic and parsley to perfection. Underneath this enormous amount of seafood was perfectly cooked choclo (the large kernel corn) and potatoes. We ordered way too much food (see photos) but were able to take the leftovers home to our rental and we're glad to see that even later that day, it was all still delicious. The service was good and the drinks were too.
