Doc Ford's - LEE
Doc Ford's
Description
Nestled in beautiful Captiva Island, this restaurant offers a mix of experiences that visitors may find hit-or-miss. While many appreciate the friendly and attentive service from staff members, including highlights like Devin and Carlos, others have cited issues with slow service and mixed-up bills. The food garners mixed reviews, ranging from enjoyable selections like shrimp and grits to disappointing mussels. The outdoor seating is a draw, especially with live music, though unwelcome insect guests after sunset can detract from the experience. Overall, it remains a casual dining option, ideal for drinks and a laid-back meal.

The food and service were excellent; our server, Zack, was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. While this location doesn't have quite the same ambiance as the Ft. Myers Beach restaurant, it’s still a great spot for lunch or dinner on the island. Both the salmon and mahi-mahi were delicious choices. I would definitely come back.
The food was excellent, portions were plentiful and the service was top notch. Hats off to our waiter Zach!!
I had a pleasant evening meal at this restaurant. I sat on the open porch, which was nice and cooled by fans. The server was friendly, and while the food and drinks were decent, they didn't stand out much.
We have eaten here a number of times on trips to Captiva. The food is predictable and average tasting. The staff is friendly and the outdoor seating coupled with live music is a fun environment to enjoy some drinks.
We recently stayed at south seas island resort and we’re underwhelmed by the service and food options. We came into doc fords and had the absolute best server DEVIN from Indiana! He walked us through the menu and drinks and we had a blast! The achiote bowl was amazing and Devin was able to do chicken for me instead of fish since I don’t eat fish. Thanks devin!
