Stonegate Bistro - Kitchener

This is a very interesting and wonderful place to eat. Everything on the menu is made from scratch using local ingredients. The use of spices gives the food a wonderful flavour that is unique. Good variety on the menu.The staff are very friendly, and take care of your every need, usually before you know you need it.The atmosphere is comfortable and intimate. Soft music in the background makes for easy conversation without having to speak over it. It is nicely lit, and decorated with the owners own artwork.This is the kind of place where you go with friends and family, for good food, great atmosphere and a moment of relaxation.It should be a MUST on everyone's list.Check website for hours of operation.

Went out this evening for my dad's birthday and was pleasantly surprised! This restaurant is off the beaten path but definitely worth visiting. The hosts were wonderful and provided us with excellent service! The three course meals were very tasty and we will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing and one of my new favourite restaurants in the region. So glad we discovered this restaurant!

Interesting!! We decided to dine out at Stonegate on a Sunday evening. We were the only people there for most of the time. One other couple came in later. We had the Three course meal. My wife had the Seafood. Bad Choice.Salmon was mushy and smelled too fishy. My steak dinner was good except for the eggplant which was very thick and rubbery. Couldn't even cut it. The dining experience was average, dur to the fact that the seafood dinner was a bust. Service was great. My wife wouldn't let me comment on the meal. I think I would like to try it again based on other reviews that were excellent. That was one of the reasons we went to Stonegate.

My husband found this bistro on trip advisor the menu really intrigued us so we decided to try it out. It was a Saturday night and surprisingly it was very quiet. It is off the beaten path but definitely a hidden gem. We really enjoyed the ambiance the decoration and the waitress. My husband had the beef tenderloin which he absolutely loved and I had the rack of lamb which was delicious. The chef provided a complementary salad which was totally unexpected though totally delicious and we would absolutely get that when we return. Unfortunately they did not have the crème brûlée though my husband settled on the Apple crumble but she said it was delicious. You were very pleased and certainly on a special occasion we would go again just him and I. The quality of the taste and the presentation was amazing compliments to the chef.

We were looking for a place for dinner on Sat. night and had no reservations. We looked on TripAdvisor for a 5star restaurant and found Stonegate. On arrival, we were wondering if we made a good choice as the restaurant is in the basement and when we went downstairs the place was about a third full.We were welcomed and seated, ordered wine and the chef sent us a very fresh and delicious salad along with hot Flatbread and ficcosia. We ordered our dinners, prime rib and salmonThe food was excellent and the portions were not small. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert.I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I'm sure it will be busier as it becomes better known.
