I had an amazing lunch at Ellisons today. The service was excellent and the presentation of the food was outstanding. I would have given them five stars if the jerk chicken had been cooked on the drum instead of in the oven. Overall, I highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you're looking for delicious Caribbean food in downtown!
I love taking friends to Ellison's restaurant. The local chef and owner Elvis is welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious, with my top two picks being the jambalaya and blackened catfish. I enjoy dining on their white tablecloths and appreciate the lack of background music, allowing for good conversation. They also offer several vegetarian options on the menu.
I enjoyed the Blackened catfish at this restaurant. The portion size was good for the price. I was surprised to find that they were out of rum, considering they serve alcohol and are a Caribbean restaurant. The meal took a while to be served, but it was freshly cooked. The decor could use a cleaning or update, and the lack of a fan or AC made it uncomfortably hot inside. I would like to try the oxtail on my next visit.
Enjoyed some tasty pepper pot soup and delicious blackened catfish. The service was terrific and the price was reasonable.
