While it may not be the most affordable option, the cheaper places often use lower quality ingredients and offer simpler flavors. Ben Thanh consistently delivers delicious and high-quality dishes. Although I have heard good things about their Thai food and dim sum, the Vietnamese dishes are so incredible that I haven't been able to bring myself to try anything else yet. The Thai curries in particular smell absolutely amazing.

They are not rude but don’t try to make you feel welcome in any way. It’s like you walk in, write what you need, eat and go. We had a few questions for our server but she neither gave any answers or attempted to show that she cared. In the end, we had to decide for ourselves and stick with what we knew. I have heard good about the Waterloo location so will give that a try as well.

The service from the wait staff can be inconsistent, as sometimes it takes a lot of effort to get their attention for simple things like utensils, while other times they are very efficient. The charming robot adds to the overall dining experience with its cheerful attitude.

The chicken pad Thai had a unique flavor, distinct from the traditional version with peanuts. The steamed dim sum was also delicious.
