Was Anonym at Red Fox Inn a mag?
The charming village was a pleasure to explore. We particularly loved seeing the Irish Wolfhounds and the cute bog ponies. Both the Irish coffee and our lunch were delicious. I found the prices to be very reasonable. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Red Fox Inn:
The experience at Red Fox Inn was disappointing. The menu reminded me of the unappetizing school lunches from my childhood—lacking flavor and poorly presented, all while being overpriced. It’s baffling how establishments like this manage to stay open. Without significant improvements, their future looks bleak. As someone once mentioned, perhaps the problem isn’t the competition but their own subpar quality. Next time... View all feedback.

I am a Failte Ireland qualified tourist guide. While temporarily out of work, I took a family trip to County Kerry and used the chance to revisit the Red Fox Inn in a personal capacity. The Red Fox is simply a warm and welcoming spot for a stop along the way. They’re well-known for their Irish Coffee, but its main charm lies in its quaint and friendly atmosphere. Of a group of 40 to 50 tourists, it’s tough to satisfy every individual, but at least 80% enjoy it, with around 15% feeling neutral. The owner's son is an author of children’s books and more recently, well-researched works on the Irish famine. I purchased one of his books some years ago and have even quoted it in essays for my Bachelor's degree. Next door to the inn is the Bog Village, a small open-air museum that authentically recreates Irish life in the 19th century. It’s highly recommended for anyone interested in Ireland’s history and culture. I hadn’t visited the Red Fox for two years due to health issues last year, but despite being one of hundreds of coach groups passing through prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were warmly welcomed like old friends. We enjoyed coffee and a few sandwiches, and the five adults and two small children in our group all had a wonderful visit.

We visited Red Fox Inn on a Sunday afternoon hoping for a traditional Sunday lunch. We chose the beef from the menu, but were disappointed by the very small portion size and the dry meat. There were two adults and a small child, and although we didn’t order much, the bill still felt quite expensive for what we had. The decor felt outdated, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I ordered the steak burger, but it tasted more like a McDonald's hamburger and was barely edible. It gave me severe indigestion. It definitely seemed like a large frozen burger that was deep-fried. It was overpriced.

Bus tour stopped for lunch along with another- place was overwhelmed but was able to seat most quickly. I was given a high seat in the back with a small shelf as a table surface-couldn't climb on the chair- had to wait for a table- I was afraid I wouldn't make it back to the bus in time. I ordered a bean dish- as you can see from the photo all gone-it was delicious.

My and I had had just made some new acquaintances when we got on the bus for the Ring of Kerry tour. This was the first stop on the tour where we all sat and enjoyed an Irish coffee and got to know each other. Great start to the full day tour!
