Cafe Kula
Description
Nestled in the Grand Wailea, Café Kula offers a mixed dining experience that balances convenience with quality. While some menu items, like the burgers and poke bowls, are labeled as average, others, such as the steak sandwich and the big pepperoni pizza, receive high praise for their exceptional flavor and execution. Despite a few service hiccups due to understaffing, the friendly staff, especially the bartenders, create a welcoming atmosphere. The café also caters to health-conscious diners, featuring fresh ingredients and affordable options compared to hotel dining. Overall, it's a solid choice for a quick bite or a casual meal while enjoying Maui.

This place is fantastic for healthy eating. The prices for the items are more affordable compared to the hotel restaurant. Most of the snacks are made with clean ingredients, and I discovered 3 or 4 new healthy snacks for my kids here. We visited this place three times during our week-long stay at the Grand Wailea!
For lunch one day, I had the poke ahi crab bowl, and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful with a nice kick of spice—comparable to any Foodland! I was truly impressed with the high quality of food for a hotel café. I also had some daily dining credits to use, so I decided to indulge and ordered the big pepperoni pizza. It was fantastic, with a nice, doughy crust that made it one of the best pizzas I've had, even better than what I get back home. I saved the leftovers in the fridge for lunch and late-night snacks. After sunset, I don’t typically stay up too late, but hey, it’s Maui! Cafe Kula serves up some really great food, and thanks to the dining credits, my meals were practically free. A huge thank you to the staff and chef; the food was fantastic! I’d give it 5 stars.
The bartender was outstanding! She was incredibly friendly and worked diligently to keep everything running smoothly; it was clear she was the backbone of the team. The food was quite good—we tried the quiche and the macadamia pasta. Both dishes tasted fresh and were well-prepared; however, I felt the menu was a bit pricey for lunch overall.
Currently closed for construction and in a temporary facility. Not bad for the limited menu. Coffee is good and open late. The breakfast sandwiches are premade and ready to go. Nice for a quick breakfast option; they also have a pastry cabinet which are pretty good as well. Got the ham breakfast sandwich, not a huge fan of ham but it wasn't bad. Really big, lots of ham. Everything is pricy but it fits with the hotel. The nutty Hawaiian latte is delish, basically a desert.
