Description

Nestled in the heart of the village, this restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences for diners. While some patrons rave about the outstanding chips and flavorful fish, others express disappointment over inconsistent service and missed orders. The ambiance strikes a balance between average and inviting, with friendly staff who occasionally falter under pressure. Parking can be tricky, but nearby options exist. Despite the occasional hit or miss with food quality, including a call for better gluten-free options, many loyal customers still cherish their visits, particularly for takeout. Overall, it seems potential diners should go with tempered expectations.

The chips at this restaurant are truly outstanding, cooked to perfection in all shapes and sizes. The sausage and batter, cod, and curry sauce are all delicious. The staff is lovely and welcoming. They also offer a new vegetarian pie for those looking for meat-free options. There is nearby free parking available if street parking is not an option. This restaurant is great for a take-out dinner.

My wife is extremely picky when it comes to french fries, but she loved the ones at this restaurant. We traveled a long way from Kettering for our first visit, and we were impressed. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5.

The food was not good, with the fish being overshadowed by excessive batter. Finding parking can be a pain. This restaurant is best for dinner, with an average price range of £20–30 per person. The service was decent and the atmosphere was average. Recommended dishes include the chips. Parking may be somewhat difficult to find, but there is a free parking lot available.

Unlike most in BL I have given the new owners the benefit of time to adjust and sort out some teething issues, always bound to happen when taking over a well run business, however I’m SADDENED to say that they have not learnt from their mistakes. The food received tonight was cold, as it had been prepared at different times and not kept warm, portion sizes have diminished, and the service is poor. It used to be such a friendly well oiled machine but it’s, in my opinion, a shadow of its former self. Poor show.
