I hadn't visited Don Hose's in years, but I recently dropped by with a friend for lunch. The restaurant still has the same vintage mauve decor and...
Back and better than ever! Don Joses has always been a beloved spot in our town, but after going through a few ownership and name changes, it has made a triumphant return with...
The Seafood Chimichanga was quite unique but absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the margarita was wonderfully refreshing. Lisbel provided fantastic service!
The menu featured both traditional and modern dishes. I opted for the grilled chicken with mango salsa, and it was excellent. They also offered brown rice, which was a nice, healthier option. Another highlight at Don Jose’s is their guacamole, which is made fresh at your table. It’s a wonderful choice if you're dining in the evening, although I’m not sure how late they serve. However, I did have some concerns regarding pricing. We had to pay an additional $1.75 for a second basket of chips and $2.00 more for a small container of sour cream. The guacamole itself was $8.00. I considered ordering fajitas, but then I found out that extra tortillas are $1.75 for just three, and the dish only comes with three to begin with. It felt like they were trimming costs in a way that was a bit surprising. It might be a sign of the times, or perhaps just a strategy to cut corners. Overall, while the food and service were great, the pricing structure left something to be desired, making for a less comfortable dining experience. In summary, the meal was enjoyable, and the staff was attentive, but the pricing practices are worth noting.
