The menu is exceptional and perfectly paired with breathtaking lake views that elevate the ambiance. The decor is elegant, and our waiter was attentive, warm, and engaging. Conveniently located just o... read more I had known St. Kyran's for years as a Guest House but only recently discovered it also operates as a restaurant open to the public. Conveniently located just one mile south of Virginia on the main N3 Dublin-Cavan-Enniskillen-Donegal road, it’s an ideal spot to pause during a long journey and enjoy a meal. Set back from the main road with plenty of parking, the restaurant offers a peaceful atmosphere. On a sunny evening, I enjoyed my first meal there, dining on the deck with beautiful lake views—a truly breathtaking setting. The food was excellent, the service quick and friendly, and the menu reasonably priced, providing great value. I especially recommend their chowder. While I chose to eat outside, the bright and cosy dining room also looked very inviting. I will definitely be returning to St. Kyran's.

The venue itself is stunning, and... read more We celebrated our wedding reception at St. Kyran's on June 29th, 2024, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The venue itself is stunning, and as locals, we loved having the breathtaking views of Lough Ramor as the perfect backdrop for our special day. After getting engaged, we reached out to Helena and Patrick in May 2023, and from that moment, their support and attentiveness were outstanding. Our BBQ-style meal was served outside on the terrace, with the sunshine adding to the wonderful atmosphere as we enjoyed the incredible views. The food and desserts surpassed all our expectations. As food enthusiasts, seeing our guests so delighted with their meals was truly a highlight of the evening. We lost count of how many guests personally praised the quality of the food afterwards—it was exceptional and far beyond what we’ve experienced at other wedding venues. St. Kyran’s did an excellent job accommodating all our guests' dietary needs and ensured no one was ever without a drink in hand. Leading up to the wedding, Helena and Patrick put us at ease by showing they had thought through every detail, which allowed us to relax on the day knowing everything was taken care of. Even when some guests had delayed flights and arrived late, Helena went above and beyond, staying up late to personally check them in. We wholeheartedly recommend St. Kyran’s as a venue for weddings or any celebration. Helena and Patrick’s passion shines through in the exceptional service they provide, combined with a warm and personal touch.

The... read more I recently visited St. Kyran's with friends from the USA, eager to share an authentic Cavan experience. Unfortunately, it felt like we came on an off night. The food fell short—some had chicken that was fairly ordinary, while the Thai Red Curry was more like a dry stir-fry. Two of us ordered steak, which was enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the food didn't seem to match the prices, and the drinks were quite pricey.
