My fiancée, our toddler, and I visited Headfort Arms in November. To our surprise, even after a month, we never received our order. The restaurant was clearly short-staffed, and the food quality was average at best. View all feedback.
I am back for a few weeks in Ireland visiting family and friends. I went to the Hinterland Literary Festival with a good friend yesterday. Afterwards, we ended up in the beautiful outside garden of the Headfort Arms Hotel. There is a summer menu. My friend opted for a salad with grilled brie and balsamic; I had the Cajun chicken breast in a bap with a side salad instead of the chips. We had two glasses of Pinot Grigio which lasted us a while as we caught up on all of our life happenings for the past year. Ireland has been undergoing a heat wave, and it was too much of a beautiful day to be spent inside in the lounge area. The food was very good as was the wine. The garden service finishes at 9 p.m. We then went into the lounge to finish our wine. There was live music at around 9:30 p.m. I would definitely return there again if I am in the area. Total bill was 47 Euros or about $58 for two including alcohol.
The Headfort Arms offers incredible food that continues to impress with every visit. As I mentioned in my previous review, the steak on a stone and the creamy chicken Cajun pasta from their menu come highly recommended. Both dishes are absolutely delicious!
