There is a portion of the menu that rotates by season at True Food Kitchen. We visited in the winter. We had Charred Cauliflower and Edamame Dumplings for appetizers and both were terrific! My friend had the Spicy Panang Curry and really enjoyed it. She remarked it was refreshing as something different to order than what you normally see. The Turkey Burger called my name which I got with the hash as my side. The burger was dry and the hash was so over-cooked I sent it back. I got the Tuscan Kale Salad instead and it was good but be warned it is *very* garlicky! We tried two desserts, the Squash Pie and Flourless Chocolate Cake. The pie is muted and really nothing special. The cake was tasty. We had a cocktail and a glass of wine, both were tasty. This location has indoor and outdoor seating. The entrance and restroom are both accessible. Parking is street parking (also a free garage nearby). We had the most wonderful server. She's been there a few years and was very enthusiastic about the menu.

We were walking the Plaza and decided to stop by True Food. It is a nice place and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was awesome and fresh. We will definitely go back. If I had to be critical on one point, it was an expensive lunch. About $80 without a tip. But good food is worth it.
My meal was delicious. It had well curated elements to it. I ordered an ancient grain bowl with tofu and it was a perfect meal for dinnertime, it was hearty meal that kept me satiated. The cilantro pesto was a star of the whole meal. I would definitely order this again for a filling meal. I ordered a vegetarian meal that didn't just feel like a bunch of sides thrown together but rather a well orchestrated and balanced plate. The food came out quickly and the service was attentive without being pushy.
I met with Katie Payne, a Realtor colleague from Leavenworth, for lunch at True Food Kitchen on the Country Club Plaza and neither were disappointed. This was a perfect working lunch. Katie ordered the Mediterranean Pizza and I ordered the Sustainable Salmon (which is Gluten Free). Most of the meals can be made Gluten Free including pizzas, just by changing out the crust. This was amazing and I?m sure we will be back. I also ordered Watermelon Lemonade. All was awesome. If you are in Kansas City, this is a must try.
