Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. There was a lengthy wait to be seated, but I passed the time exploring nearby shops. It was definitely worth the wait! The Chilaquiles are incredible! This was my first time here, and I can't wait to return! View all feedback.
This place is always wonderful. Food is always fast and fresh. The sage sausage is incredible. If you are a fan of cookies and Gravy, they are excellent here. I'm still trying to figure out what they're doing to make the cookies so good.
I went straight from the airport on a recommendation. I was not disappointed! I have no idea what they do to eggs but I never knew eggs could taste like that. Our server forgot the mimosas but they were worth the wait. All in all a pretty good experience. I'd try it again next time I'm in town!
The servers and management are always very nice. And I wouldn't turn down The Corner Restaurant if a friend wanted to go there. But, the food quality just isn't great in my book. They have an intriguing menu, but I always leave wishing I'd had a better meal. I got the Meshuggah bagel sandwich which had a fried egg, bacon and caramelized shallot cream cheese. The cream cheese and bacon were both yummy. But the egg was disgraceful. It was more like a hardboiled egg in the shape of a fried egg. The yolk was hanging out of the sandwich, clearly as stiff as can be, and the chef still sent it out. The hash brown potato that came with, tasted like it had just been removed from the freezer and defrosted... not great. All in all, I didn't love my experience at The Corner Restaurant. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was great.
Absolutely amazing, again! Second time I have been there. I don't live in KC so I only have the opportunity every once in a while. Hangover Cure I had this this time pictured.
Truly delightful. I didn't realize how popular this place was because I came late on a rainy weekday. The food was delicious, the servers attentive and the ambience charming. I ordered the duck on duck (duck egg on top of duck breast on top of creamy grits). I'm a sucker for grits (from the South after all) but sometimes find it hard to finish a whole bowl since it can be too creamy. I think the salty duck breast balanced the creamy grits perfectly so I was able to eat the whole thing. My friend ordered a scramble-ful with onions and mushrooms. It was a huge platter of food filled with carbs and protein. I think it's the equivalent of 3 normal meals for me. My favorite part of the meal was the fruit salad side. I loved the gold watermelon and blueberries! Everything was in season and therefore just at be peak of deliciousness. I also ordered the savory bacon and cheddar scones. They were a bit too dry (even for scones). I would have liked a more buttery crumb. I also got coffee, which I found high quality and pretty tasty. I like my morning coffee slightly less acidic but I still liked this a lot. I wish I had more time to try the sweet items on the menu so I will definitely be back if I am ever in Kansas City again.
