I ordered take out order which was cold, he gave sambhar cold and no taste. At the end, he charged me extra for food. when I asked about it, he told me that price change for Dosa. Plus he charged me extra for Chutney also. I would not recommend anyone to buy from this restaurant. View all feedback.
I have been to this restaurant before, as I live nearby. The prices are affordable, but the food was just okay in terms of taste and presentation. I ordered two days ago and was excited to receive my meal, but was ultimately disappointed. The meat was tough and seemed like it may have been a bone cut, fried until crispy. The parathas were hard and not fluffy, but the flavor was good. The chili sauce was extremely sweet and lacked any spice. Additionally, I had a strange and one-sided conversation with the server, who did not take responsibility for the issues with my meal. The prices have increased, but the quality and quantity of the food do not meet customer expectations. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
At Jatderay, we ordered: biryani, chicken masala dosa, 2 orders of vada (we only received one), chicken 65, vegetable uttapam, and more. The biryani was good, but the chicken 65 was a bit dry and only had 6 or 7 small pieces of chicken. The vada was tasty but we were disappointed by the missing order. The dosa itself was good, but the chicken inside was tough and overcooked. It seems like there is no quality control here as the dosas were not crispy and the vadas had too many pepper grains. The coconut chutney was greasy and orange in color. The sambar was okay. Overall, our previous meal from this place was nice, but this time we were a bit disappointed.
This restaurant in Ottawa is the go-to spot for a South Indian food experience. It recently changed ownership, but the food is still amazing (and might even be better than before).
Looks like there is a change in administration, but the quality of food has changed drastically. dosa was very thick and coconut cutney was watered down and tasteless.
Elvin the owner is a simple man and a good restaurant man. He will go out of the way to get it right the first time.
