Was Brandon ruan at Jericho Cider Mill a mag?
The prices are quite high—$35 for a cider donut, a crumb donut, a gallon of cider, and raspberry bread! However, everything tastes amazing, and the cider crumb donuts are the best! View all feedback.
What J M dislikes about Jericho Cider Mill:
The pricing here is outrageous, and the gallon of cider I purchased tasted more like dirty water than anything enjoyable. It seems this place has become complacent with its products, and the quality has seriously declined. Charging $12 for half a dozen cider donuts is excessive, especially when the $9 gallon of cider tasted so terrible that I ended up throwing it away. I stopped by on July 4th to pick up a pie. Last year, I had a wonderful Key Lime Pie, but unfortunately, they didn't have it this time, so I opted for a classic Blueberry pie. How could you go wrong with that? Well, at $28.09 for a standard-sized pie, I was disappointed. After one slice, the rest ended up in the garage. It seems like this place has lost its edge. Honestly, a store-bought pie at a third of the price would have been a better choice.
This family-owned establishment is one of the oldest on the island. You can truly feel the history in the air while browsing their apples. Whenever my hip allows it, I make sure to restock on their ciders, and I usually ask my grandkids to grab some for me as well.
Last year, I bought an incredible key lime pie for a party that everyone loved. This year, I tried the blueberry pie, and it was disappointing. The host ended up throwing it away.
The prices are quite high, but unfortunately, everything from the cod to the donuts and pies is below standard. The apple crumb pie was particularly disappointing—it had little flavor aside from a cloying sweetness and was also undercooked. Overall, not worth the cost.
In contrast, I got a gallon of cider from a different orchard while I was upstate for only $6, and the donuts there were just a dollar each. That cider was sweet and flavorful, unlike the unpleasant, earthy taste of the cider from Jericho Cider Mill. It's disheartening to see this once-great spot turn into a clear money grab with subpar offerings.
