My husband and I visited eT on October 21st, and we had been eagerly awaiting their reopening. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We had to pay before our meal, and were informed that they were putting out fresh food, but that never happened. The food was terrible, and I hate to say it, but I won’t be returning after paying that price for leftover lunch food. I used to really love Mai Tai.
I ordered food for my parents on Christmas day since my father was quite ill and they couldn't go out. They suspected it might be COVID, but testing wasn't available until Monday morning. At around 3:00 PM, I placed an order for ham fried rice and house lo mein. The delivery finally arrived at 5:00 PM. Given it was Christmas, I didn’t want to complain. However, I received a text from my dad, who hardly ever voices complaints, saying:
We recently saw some positive reviews and thought it would be worth another visit, but we were deeply disappointed once again, and we've decided not to return. The rice had an odd taste, and some of the meats were served cold despite being freshly brought out. To make matters worse, our waitress was not pleasant, which only added to the negative experience. If you remember the pre-pandemic Mai Tai, I wouldn't recommend visiting this place now, as it will likely overshadow those wonderful memories.
Typical Chinese buffet fare. Food was okay. Facility is old and tired. I expected much more for almost $20 per person.
Brendon the d1 reviewer here honestly ate a couple of everything the wings were possibly the worse wings I’ve ever tasted service was bad my server rarely checked one time and didn’t notice things like others do the atmosphere is strange the buffet part looks modern but the rest looks run down torn up seats and bugs and other nasty noticeable things the deserts were okay but very limited on options the corn was all mushy and overcooked with little to no seasoning, the chicked on a stick was lightly fried in old grease, the honey chicken had only little pieces and had no meat inside the mass amount of it I got, the fries small shrimp had hard pieces in all of them, same to say the only thing I ate that I enjoyed was the crab legs but they cost a separate cost to get and are guaranteed fresh other than some old and all frozen food and old interior I wouldn’t recommend. Bathrooms were nasty, moldy, missing toilets, and trash can needs to just be replaced. An honest tragedy of a place to eat.
