Reviews - Mitsuba Chéng Dōu Yìn Xiàng
Reviews summary
A busy neighborhood Asian restaurant earns praise for friendly service, generous portions and standout dishes (notably duck) plus plentiful vegetarian options and easy parking. Diners report consistently good takeout and a warm, inviting atmosphere, but experiences vary: sushi and hibachi can be bland or off, waits run long, prices sometimes feel high, and some reviewers noted hygiene and air-conditioning issues. Worth trying for well-prepared entrees and recommendations from staff, but approach sushi and timing with caution.

What Sarah Frauchiger dislikes about Mitsuba Chéng Dōu Yìn Xiàng:
I ordered steak hibachi and a teriyaki chicken bento box for pickup. I think this is the worst Japanese food I've ever had. Nothing had flavor and it was all bland. The dressing for the salad was off, the soups were really gross and the steak was beyond bland. I would definitely not order from here again. Sumo across the street is a million times better than this place. Don't waste your money. Service: Takeaway View all feedback.

Loud venue with hard surfaces; confused wait staff; more Chinese items than Japanese. Not at all vegetarian or vegan friendly. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
Everything was good up until the sushi. I have never not loved sushi and this was the only time we have ever left uneaten sushi. Bland and not even soy could make it better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I always struggle to choose between sukiyaki and nabemono because they're both so delicious! The best part is that they can be made gluten-free. Plus, the staff at Mitsuba are fantastic!
The egg was overcooked and excessively large based on my experience, and the scallops were shredded and torn. However, the rice was delicious!

Wow. What a train wreck. I wanted to order a side of hibachi veggies and they don't offer a la carte. So I had to change my order at the last second to get what I wanted. They said it would take 20 minutes, we waited for over 40 minutes. The shrimp in my hibachi tasted VERY fishy. And the tofu was coated in a slimy batter. When we unpacked the food there was also hair in the bag. And on top of it all, the food was much more expensive than it should have been for the quality. Needless to say we will NOT be going back.
The Sichuan BBQ fish was the most amazing dish I have ever tasted. It was truly incredible and uniquely delicious. The sushi was also good, and the service was pleasant.
Excellent prices on Sashimi and Sushi. The Tempura appetizers were really good. No alchohol served but the tea was good. Service prompt and courteous. Lot's of takeout and delivery, very busy. Inside dining still not fully recovered from COVID19 but pleasant and nice to dine in.
Basically a Chinese restaurant disguised as a Japanese one! Make sure to ask for the Chinese menu with pics (which also has cheaper prices than the Japanese menu). Everyone friendly, karaoke is available. Only thing is they charge 3-4% for using a card which is a big shame. Not a fan of costs being blatantly passed onto the customer
