Chili's Grill - Ithaca
Chili's Grill
Description
This restaurant offers a blend of experiences that leave diners divided. While some rave about the friendly and attentive staff, others lament overcooked burgers, cold potatoes, and missed side dishes. The atmosphere is decent but dim, and food quality doesn’t always match the higher prices. Highlights include the Cajun shrimp pasta and beef nachos, yet issues with portion sizes and ingredient consistency were noted. Regulars express disappointment over recent price hikes, leading some to reconsider their dining frequency. Overall, it remains a spot for casual outings, though those seeking consistent quality might explore other options.

The ambiance is decent, but the dim lighting doesn't contribute much to the overall vibe. I tried the Bacon Burger for $17, and to be honest, it could use some improvement for that price. The burger was quite greasy, and the portion of fries that accompanied it was rather small. Additionally, most of the menu items tend to be high in calories. While the prices are somewhat steep given the quality, they are still somewhat reasonable. It's a good spot for a quick bite with friends, but if you're seeking something more fulfilling, there are definitely better choices out there.
The staff was exceptional, but the food fell short of expectations. The potatoes were served cold, and the Southwestern egg rolls were disappointing—mushy, lukewarm, and presented in an unappealing way. I've enjoyed these in the past, but they just didn't taste good this time. Unfortunately, both of us felt unwell shortly after leaving the restaurant.
The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The staff had a lineup of pumpkins for Halloween, and guests could vote on which employee had the best-decorated pumpkin.
The mushrooms on the Swiss burger were excessively salty, rendering it uneatable. The burger was overcooked, the salad was insufficient, and the quesadillas never arrived. To make matters worse, my drink was only half full.
I expected the cake to be served warm, but both the chocolate cake and its center were almost frozen. Since I’m staying in a hotel without a microwave in my room, I was hoping to enjoy a warm cake alongside the cold ice cream. If I had known it would be served frozen, I wouldn’t have ordered it.
