Pappas restaurants are pretty good, but Pappadeaux may be my favorite. Overall, it is a great place for Cajun and Louisiana inspired food. Usually people go to birthdays or formal events. I like this location as it is in downtown and easy to reach from Discovery Green or Congress Center. My recommended dishes are the darkened catfish or crustaceans etouffeeee. View all feedback.
The meal was great. A little pricey but the portions were fair. Service was great and the place was very nice. Staff was working hard and the restaurant was buzzing full of people.
Absolutely wonderful! They were able to our group of 18 comfortably with excellent service and seating. The food prices are slightly higher, BUt you SO MUCH Food! Make sure you save space for a piece of lime cake. I suggest skipping appetizers. Ask Dessert to come at the same time as the main course. Fillings are available free of charge. Wonderful service.
Don our server was great. Very attentive. Food was good too. Price is to be expected being in the downtown and in the convention center.
A few friends and I decided to catch the train and eat at this Pappadeaux location on a Wednesday afternoon. When we arrived we were told that there was a 45 minute wait and that we would get a text when our table was ready. We were unaware that a convention had recently let out at GRB and the rockets were having a game so the restaurant was busy. 2 hours went by and we still had not received a message regarding our table. When we went to inquiry about our table, the hostess immediately sat us as if we had been forgotten about. This was very annoying because we wanted to walk around downtown after we ate but did not get the chance to because it was dark when we finally left. I feel like they need a better system when it comes to waiting for tables because this is a small location and I am sure people always have to be placed on a waiting list. Besides the long wait, the food was delicious. The crab and spinach dip was my favorite part !! I was so good, I would definitely order it again. The trout was tasty and as always, I also got the vanilla cheesecake (not pictured) and it was good. Overall this was a nice location, I would just recommend calling to see how long the wait is before hand or not visiting when there is something going on downtown. Also, be aware that this is a small location so they do have a limited menu.
The blackened catfish-along with the rice and beans- is just delicious!!! 5 stars! My husband got the seafood and sausage gumbo and he loved it also. The wait for a table was very long-like two hours- so we just ordered our food and ate it outside of the restaurant, on the patio. The to-go girl that took our order was great. She was very helpful, kind and patient even though there was chaos all around with how many people that were there. She even brought us our food out on the patio. Thanks Pappadeaux?s! ?? from Utah
