Feedback
KUU presents a tantalizing blend of flavors in a vibrant setting, though experiences seem to vary widely among diners. While some rave about the fresh sashimi and attentive service, others find the food overpriced and portions disappointingly small. The A5 Wagyu and sous vide offerings receive praise for their quality, but there are complaints regarding dishes being overcooked or lacking flavor. Service is often highlighted as a strong point, making guests feel valued, yet inconsistent food quality leaves some longing for better value. Overall, KUU may appeal to those seeking a sophisticated dining experience, but others might temper their expectations.
Food was just ok. Had the duck which was cooked to our liking at the table. Fun concept but taste wasn't overly impressive. Pork Belly was the smallest serving EVER and could have used better accompaniments. It was served on a small smattering of a puree which had no flavor. We chose to share a sushi roll and I cannot recall the name, but it had tuna and hamachi, with some kind of truffle sauce. We both thought it had the strangest taste and totally overpowered the fish. Our server, Haley, was AMAZING. Her knowledge of the menu and ingredients was outstanding. Very attentive to our needs. She deserves a gold stat!! We will not eat here again as we felt it was expensive for what you get and the food mediocre.
We love coming to KUU, because the food is always amazing. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but it's a high end restaurant that is owned and run by the chef. Everything tasted great from the sous vide wagyu to the softshell crab to the scallops to the makimono. My son, who can be a little finicky, completely demolished the wagyu and asparagus, even fully partaking of the fig-based sauce, and he never eats sauces or puts dressing on his salads. My wife ordered the roasted brussel sprouts, which were served with a honey sauce that cut the usual bitterness of the sprouts to the point where I would actually order them for myself, and I really don't like brussel sprouts. We were there celebrating my parents' 62nd wedding anniversary, and they brought out a complimentary dessert featuring black sesame seed brownies served with a rice sorbet drizzled with black sesame seed sauce. It was amazing! The rice sorbet was similar in neutrality to vanilla in taste but it wasn't as sweet and really left a nice clean palate afterwards. The waitstaff was very attentive, providing refills in a timely fashion, and clearing dishes as they were finished. I would definitely recommend KUU to anyone.
I'm not a big sushi fan. Thankfully Kuu had a few things looked really good. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty expensive but the food presentation was gorgeous. However; portions were really small and I left hungry (there were 5 bite size pieces to thepork belly). I will mention that the squash purée was absolutely wonderful, it was like a dessert. The service was great andthe birthday girl had a great time.
We had a great time celebrating my boyfriend and brother's birthday at this place. Service: everyone is friendly and welcoming. Our waitress of the night is very sweet. Atmosphere: There is a violinist guy playing at night. Very lovely and romantic. Youcan request a song from him. Food: I have been to so many omakase places so my judge will be from experienced person. I wouldgive the food 7/10 due to the taste and freshness of the fish. Besides the special menu, fishes on regular menu weren't 100%fresh with my taste. I love foie gras but it was a little over cooked (lessen the buttery taste of it). However you guys stillshould give it a try. The place is very romantic for a date night or family gatherings. I would still come back.
