I ordered t... read more This was my first time at Melvin's, and unfortunately, due to my short stay in Houma, Louisiana, I probably won't have the opportunity to come back. I ordered the okra shrimp gumbo, and I have to say it was, without a doubt, the best I've ever tasted. I even told our server that if they had cookbooks for sale, I would definitely buy one!

The best seats are on the terrace, where you can enjoy a lovely view of the IMO waterway.

However, it turned out to... read more We were unfamiliar with the area, so we felt a bit out of place walking into the restaurant on a Saturday evening after our boat trip. However, it turned out to be a lovely spot that typically requires reservations, but they kindly accommodated us without one. The waitstaff was very friendly, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. The food was incredibly tasty! We ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi, a veal dish (the name of which I can’t remember), and the hamburger steak, and we all enjoyed our selections. We will definitely be back!

The second-generation owners are doing an exceptional job of providing some of the best cuisine in the area. Every seat boasts a stunning view, enhancing the charming atmosphere. The food is incredibly fresh and prepared to order for each guest. Additionally, the staff is both efficient and attentive, offering impeccable service throughout the meal.
