The second-generation owners are doing an exceptional job of providing some of the best cuisine in the area. Every seat boasts a stunning view, enhancing the charming atmosphere. The food is incredibly fresh and prepared to order for each guest. Additionally, the staff is both efficient and attentive, offering impeccable service throughout the meal.

However, it turned out to be a lovely spot that typically requires reservations, but they kindly accommodated us without one. The waitstaff was very friendly, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. The food was incredibly tasty! We ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi, a veal dish (the name of which I can’t remember), and the hamburger steak, and we all enjoyed our selections. We will definitely be back!

I only tried one dish—the okra shrimp gumbo—and it was by far the best gumbo I have ever tasted. I even told our server, “If you sold cookbooks with that recipe, I would definitely buy one.”

Although I... read more Every time we've visited Melvin's, we've been treated like royalty. The dining experience is both elegant and filled with genuine Cajun hospitality! Although I live in Orlando, my family resides in Houma, and this is our preferred meeting spot because of the fantastic food and the inviting atmosphere at Melvin's. The servers provide us with exceptional attention—something I just don’t find in Orlando. I can't wait for our next visit! I'm trying to coordinate a gathering for the whole family soon.
