Relative to the price, the portion size is small but the taste is above average. They will refill your banchans (side dishes) if you ask them.Given the location and considering where this place is located, I'd come back if I am craving for a tofu soup. View all feedback.
What james l doesn't like about So Gong Dong Soondubu:
Let me start off by saying the food here is great but the service was horrible. I ordered the soft tofu soup combo with bbq chicken which the chicken was tender and the soup tasted great! The soup was boiling hot which gave the ambiance a nice traditional feeling.Onto the service I was received was horrible. The man who served me and my girlfriend had not only treated us with disrespect, but also laughed at us when I... View all feedback.

Decent food. Bad service. They just finished their lunch rush. Don't expect much when you come here. Bare minimum not an Aloha experience ...
This place is it's located on the outer side of the old likelike plaza near the new yogur story, right next to gradient nails. They open at 11:30, so it's not a breakfast place, more like a lunch spot. We went right when they opened at 11:30 am and got seated right away! There was also another group there right after us so it's a popular spot. It's a little tight, but they do what they can with the amount of space they have. The waiters don't speak fluent English so just be mindful about that. My coworker said they have really good spicy tofu soup here so we decided to try it when we where done with our errands for that meeting day. It's a small shop, I wouldn't have known it was here if it wasn't for my friend that already ate here! I got the seafood spicy tofu soup. It came with the ban Chan for the table, but everyone got their own rice, Asians love their rice!!! I would've been okay just eating the tofu with the soup so I didn't really touch my rice. It definitely hit the spot though! I got medium spice. Don't get mild or there won't be much flavor (that's what my coworker said). The soup base is sooooo ono!!!!! I loved it so much I almost drank everything. There's a ton of tofu!!!! I had so much left over. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out if you like Korean food. They don't just sell spicy tofu soup, they do meat jun and all that jazz too. Parking can be tricky because they do have a parking no area for these shops. However if you come at the wrong time like lunch time there won't be any parking and you have to do street parking... which isn't free. We got street parking and still had left over time in our car meter so you can definitely enjoy your time if you do street parking. I told my sisters about this place so definitely 100% Would come back!
My daughter, visiting from the mainland, ordered via DoorDash. We got a combo plate meat Jun and bulgogi, as well as today vegetable soup. The meat Jun and bulgogi, she said, tasted good with the banchan. My tofu soup, on the other hand, was the worst I have had. First, it was so thin, like a broth, and tasteless. Then, it had broccoli and squash. When did those become Asian vegetables?? I added the kimchee and kakuteki from the banchan to it and it still tasted horrible. I get kimchee soup all the time and this was, by far, the worst I have had. I would have given this review 1 star but, since my daughter said her dish was okay, so I am giving 3.
I wanted to like this place but my sister's and I got the impression that we weren't welcomed. Can't explain it. After walking in, we were sat right by the door. We were told that the other tables were for a bigger party coming in. No party ever showed up during our dining experience and other people that came after were seated at the tables we would've rather been seated at. The man just gave this really annoyed impression. The woman was a lot friendlier. I actually enjoyed the meal but the atmosphere the whole time honestly felt a bit tense. My sisters are much worse at keeping it cool so I couldn't wait to finish eating!
