The brunch was great, we ate too much! The kings iced coffee cocktail was fantastic and strong and perfect. Highly recommend the French toast, it was delicious and creamy.
I recently dined at Smith and Kings and indulged in their offerings. The deluxe burger I ordered was not only delicious but also came in a huge portion that left me fully satisfied. The lobster poutine was a delightful surprise with its generous serving of lobster and flavorful combination of ingredients. Both dishes had a nice, rich flavor that made the meal truly enjoyable. If you're looking for substantial portions and great taste, Smith and Kings is definitely worth a visit!
Saturday brunch with friends on a busy Saturday morning. As usual the atmosphere is convivial, our server was good, sadly the food was a little cool, but tasty nonetheless.
An ex co-worker and I went to Smith Kings to talk about our common interests in IT, guitars and travel. It was just after noon on a Friday so I was somewhat surprised to find the place almost empty of diners. My lunch mates and I used to frequent this spot because the food was good especially the foie gras burger) and the location unbeatable across the street from our offices). We stopped coming because the place wasn’t open on a consistent basis for lunch … a victim of the pandemic, we believe. I ordered a Hendricks gin and tonic $11) and the chicken and waffles $16) while my tablemate opted for the chicken club $18). The food came in short order and we each enjoyed our meal while discussing guitar stores in Tokyo. My plate contained two chicken strips and a Belgian waffle cut into quarters, served with a small container of maple syrup; a perfectly sized portion for lunch for me). The chicken club came in a bun with lettuce, tomato … more like a fried chicken burger than a club sandwich. It was served with a side of fries. I enjoyed my chicken and waffles; a crisp waffle is a must for me and Smith Kings delivered. I believe my tablemate enjoyed his sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the location remains a plus. $11 for a Hendricks tonic is a value play in this age. Recommended.
We tried 2 different salads and both were excellent. Lobster Mac Cheese was good but not exceptional could have used some more lobster. It's there regular Mac Cheese with a lobster topping. Plenty more items on the menu to try, since this was a 1st visit. Looking forward to another visit, but hope they'll add other tables besides the hightops . . .
