Description

At Ramen Ya, diners can expect a mixed experience. While the restaurant offers generous portions and affordable pricing, reviews highlight fluctuating food quality. Standout dishes like the spicy seafood ramen and gyoza receive praise for their flavor and texture, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, some customers found certain items, like greasy chicken and overly salty ramen, lacking in finesse. Service is generally rated positively, though one unfortunate incident regarding tipping marred a visit. Overall, Ramen Ya appeals to those seeking hearty meals, though consistency in food quality remains a point for improvement.

With so many ramen places popping up, it's hard to give them more stars when you compare them.

Had dinner at Ramen Ya in Hawaii Kai. Nice, clean restaurant, fast, friendly service. We got the 'set ' meals of wonton and miso ramen soup, both with 4 gyoza and mochico chicken sides. The mochico (fried with sweet rice flour) chicken was crispy and good came with sides of a scoop of rice and mac salad. A lot of food for $14.95.The wonton soup broth was very tasty, not too salty. The wonton wrappers were thin and some fell apart and had very little filling. The miso ramen had perfectly cooked, al dente, delicious noodles. The miso broth had good miso flavor but for me was way too salty. I am used to lower sodium miso paste when I make it at home. The 2 pork slices in our soup were dry and chewy. The gyoza was simply delicious, some of the best we 've ever had. Soft yet chewy wrappers, juicy fun pork filling. The mac salad was good, tasty but too much mayo. We both ate it anyway. ?We took our rice and a few pieces of the chicken to go, like I said, a lot of food. Would definitely return for the regular ramen soup, the very tasty gyoza and mochico chicken.

I'm not big on Japanese cuisine so take this with a grain of salt. The food quality was not great. The chicken was too greasy and had too much of the oil flavor. Ramen wasn't very flavourful either. The service was great.
