I’m not sure if you're familiar with Hawaii's diverse food culture, but this restaurant beautifully combines traditional flavors with a modern twist. One of the most challenging dishes to find, in my opinion, is a good pastel. If I come across a big one here, I’m sure this will become a regular spot for me. My mom would come here to buy pastels, even though we would make them family. It is labor intensive. I love the pastels here. Just like my mother. Gandule rice is as good as my mother's. More sofrito and gandules, please. My mother would also add black olives and pork. I buy at least two dozen frozen to California
