This is the new establishment that took over in 2022, or so I've heard. The place has been completely renovated and looks fantastic. The menu has undergone significant changes, and I do miss the open-faced turkey sandwich and a few other items. I visited with my buddy Andrew (rest in peace); this was his favorite spot. I want to mention that the waitstaff is very polite and genuinely pleasant. You have to try the sizzling hamburger steak—it's delicious! Their macaroni salad is also quite tasty.
This is an honest diner. If you’re looking for a fancy kitchen or artistic plate presentations, or if you prefer a waiter who hovers over you, this isn’t the place for you. The kitchen doesn’t shift from breakfast to lunch with any frills. However, if you want delicious, generous, and affordable food, this is the spot to visit. We had a meat lover's feast and ordered the rib for two, which was around $38. It was tasty, satisfying, and there was so much that we needed two doggy bags to take home the leftovers. We used to have similar family diners within a few blocks of where we lived, but now we have to drive to get here—and it’s definitely worth it!
Now new open with new owner, cleaner atmosphere and food are all great! my family enjoyed dinner and happy, again here for the family time!
Great experience. The staff is so friendly and helpful! I would go back for sure.
Went on FEB 19th. This was my first time back to Eagle Cafe in about 7 years. New management/owner/name since the last time. I had the saimin special, and shared an order of gyoza, garlic edamame, and calamari. My future father in law had their burger with fries.Parking was easy, and on an interesting note, they had live music that night that was not on their usual schedule of live music nights. They played some old time Hawaiin music as well as some fun music. We were seated quickly and in time to still benefit from their happy hour specials. The surprise standout was their Calamari. It was cooked well and the breading was flavorful. The size of the squid was also pretty decent. The Saimin was pretty average, not a standout like at other places. And the hamburger was the same, pretty average, with nothing to make it stand out as either good or bad. What might sound like a quibble was the slow service. We ordered 3 entrees, 3 appetizers, their bucket of beers, 3 waters, and during the course of ordering additional drinks, asking for more water, the wait staff never did clear any of the plates or empties.Overall would go again but not at the top of our list
