This was the fourth time visiting and they never disappoint. The quality, consistency and taste of the food, the friendliness and attentiveness of the wait staff, and the great menu makes Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu one of my favorite restaurants in Hawaii. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ginza Bairin Hawaii Tonkatsu And Yoshoku Bistro:
the food should have tasted better for the high prices that the restaurant invites. baked oysters were terrible with the baked of the tiny oyster. baked chicken was very dry and tasteless. omurice has not fried rice in omelet. the black was good. View all feedback.
Personally, I think the restaurant is overhyped. It was not my style, but I know that many enjoy it here. The service was good, however, it was not consistent. The sesame cabbage dressing was the best I've ever had!
The meat and breading quality was tasty. Got the Bairin mix, some pieces were a bit dry but the breading is thin and crispy. Great service, they take reservations but walk-ins seemed easy too . Ambience is nothing amazing, but was clean and nicely kept. Wish they had the various flavors of soup and rice like Tonkotsu Tamafuji.
Amazing dinner experience this is our 2nd visit. that will be part of every visit. excellent eating. our 2 reservations for a big party. very friendly team!
The tonkatsu was delicious and the service was friendly and gracious. we even have a Kama’aina discount!
The food is mediocre at best. The main show was the tonkatsu and surprisingly, it was a disappointment. The tonkatsu had more fat than meat. I tried my husband’s tonkatsu since we ordered different cut of the meat and his was fatty too. I felt like we were eating a mouthful of lard and panko. For the price point, the quality of food did not match.
