Takeout experience to share! Everything arrived crispy and warm. It was enjoyable experience eating Izakaya style food takeout at home. I liked the quail eggs kushi!! View all feedback.
Smaller restaurant on King Street across from Gyotaku restaurant. Fujiyama Texas serves kushikatsu which are delicious foods battered and deep fried on skewers. Everything from cheese, beef, veggies and even bacon on skewers! I don't think you can go wrong with ANYTHING deep fried! We had beef, cheese, bacon, lotus root, kabocha, shrimp and mushroom kushikatsu. They were all delicious. Also, the daikon salad was very good as well as the ahi roll. There are salads and rice/noodle dishes, limited sushi and soup type dishes. Mostly, people flock here for the kushikatsu and apparently the Japanese breakfast is very popular.I would recommend reservations, especially for large groups. There is a bar section which was pretty busy for couples. Decor and interior is very basic, sort of like a diner. But because the restaurant is small, the food and service is pretty quick. Also, lots of beer options here--Asahi was on tap on our recent visit.I would recommend Fujiyama Texas for something different from the typical Japanese food and for later night snacking, as they are open until 11pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
Fun spot to go for some Japanese pupus and Kushikatsu (deep fried skewers)! We went here for dinner and ordered their potato salad, ahi sushi roll, and some Kushikatsu. I had the deep fried chicken wing, mochi, and mushrooms. For dessert we ordered this Matcha green tea jello with ice cream and sweet corn flakes. Everything was delish! We also ordered some Chu-Hi drinks too. Fun spot to go too and they also serve Japanese Breakfast here too!
Amazing food, love the dumpling/meat ball. Also, the bacon and chu hi's awesome here.Food: 5/5
The japanese breakfast is so good!! so warm and flavorful. especially the misoyaki butterfish. please try it! :3
Amazing food! Recommend getting the jalapeno poppers, the kabocha, the mountain yam (comes with flamed tobiko fish eggs on top), and the simmered pork belly which were our favorites. Their yuzu chuhai is made with real yuzu juice. From the pictures I thought it would be heavily fried food, but it was actually flame grilled to perfection and super thinly battered then crisped. Amazing taste for each plate, not oily or heavy at all. You can tell they take their cooking seriously! So delicious, will definitely be backVery cute eclectic place with friendly staff and atmosphere. Fun vibe, good place to bring friends and share bites.
