What Naomi Ortega likes about Alan Wong's:
As far as the Honolulu food scene goes, Alan Wong's is one of the better places you could visit for for a great meal and experience. From the time you enter the restaurant, the service is fantastic. Average food. Not even comparable to Roys, who easily strike these hands. Very good service. The lobster bisque was probably the best we had. The seafood dumplings were dry and tasteless. The beef ripple shell was more like a pot roast, nothing special. The salmon was perfectly cooked, but nothing woke me up again. The chocolate cake was much too airy and had only a basic cocoa taste on it, nothing rich nor unique. View all feedback.

read moreAlan Wong's offers a mixed dining experience, with some diners finding the food to be just average and not comparable to other high-end restaurants, while others praise the innovative dishes and fresh flavors. The lobster bisque is a standout dish, but other entrees like the seafood dumplings and beef rib fall short of expectations. The presentation is top-notch, but some feel that the portion sizes are too small for the high prices. While some consider Alan Wong's to be the best of the Honolulu dining scene, others are left disappointed and feel that there are better options available for the price. The service is consistently praised as attentive and knowledgeable, making for an overall pleasant dining experience.
