I ordered the chicken marsala, which was absolutely amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender and juicy—and the sauce was delightful. The portion size was very generous; I could only finish half and took the rest home. I reheated it for lunch today, and it was just as delicious as it was on Monday. I've never had a poor meal there. On another visit, I enjoyed the short ribs with mashed potatoes, which was also outstanding. I usually stay at a local bed and breakfast, and Walter's Basin is conveniently located within a mile of the inn.

The food was outstanding—fresh, perfectly... read more This was my second visit to Walter's Basin, and our party of seven was incredibly impressed with the whole experience. The food was outstanding—fresh, perfectly prepared, and the menu offered a wide variety to please everyone. From the French fries to the seafood, salads, burgers, and mac and cheese, everything was delicious. The drinks were also reasonably priced and definitely not watered down like in many other restaurants. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The highlight was enjoying our meal while gazing out at the stunning Squam Lake through the large row of windows in the dining room, where we even spotted our first loon of the season. This restaurant has risen to the top of our favorites list, and it's worth the over hour-long drive to get there.

The chicken was made perfect - slim and damp - and the sauce was also delicious. It was a generous portion and I could only eat half of it and bring the rest home. I heated it to lunch today, and it was as good as Monday. I've never had a bad meal. Once I had lubricated the short ribs with potatoes - another excellent meal. I stay with a local B

The food was outstanding—fresh, expertly... read more This was my second visit to Walter's Basin, and our party of seven was thoroughly satisfied with the entire experience. The food was outstanding—fresh, expertly prepared, and the menu offered a wide variety that catered to everyone's tastes. From the French fries to seafood, salads, burgers, and mac and cheese, everything was delicious. The drinks were also reasonably priced and not watered down like at many other places. The service was delightful and attentive. But the highlight was dining with a beautiful view of Squam Lake through the large windows in the dining room. We even caught a glimpse of the fall season. Walter's Basin has now ascended to the top of our favorite restaurant list, despite the fact that we have to drive over an hour to get there.
